Gallic Sprites
Description
Gallic Sprites is one of a series of unique abstract paintings in blue and gereen in acrylic on canvas produced early in 2022 in which I worked with blended layers of different colours and used a palette knift to tease out the underlying green colours to create the central band. The emerald green that dominated reminded me of a tour of Ireland a few years ago and the stretched effect was reminiscent of the sprites phenomenon associated with large thunderstorms. The painting was finished with raised silver dots to give a textured canvas finish.
