Another World

Description

This painting was created using a bespoke blend of liquid polymer resin, plaster and acrylic paint inlaid with gold and silver particles. The gold particles form a dominant band across the centre of this unique abstract painting and the whole piece truly shines under the right lighting. A highly immersive abstract artwork. Rather than brushwork, this was created entirely with palette knives of varying shape and size, which provided the varying textures across the surface.

The inspiration for this painting came from seeing beech trees in our local wood - I was fascinated by the way the different shades of bark over-laid each other and gave the impression of other worlds. I could almost see blocks of buildings in the bark and this is what I have tried to convey in this unique abstract painting.

36 × 24-inch box canvas.
