Building my brand identity
When I started painting in December 2018 I had no idea that I needed to have a brand identity. By July 2019 I was selling my artwork and still didn't think too much of it. But, as my sales grew so my use of social media increased along with people referring me to others. I soon realised that I needed to look a lot more professional.
Looking professional included thinking about how I was packaging my paintings - not just handing them over! It also meant developing an identity that would be recognisable and convey the right message - that I'm a serious artist creating original fine art.
It took many iterations but I finally settled on the logo image you see here. The background is from one of my floral series paintings and the name was a result of canvassing my friends and family and Awbery Art was the most popular suggestion.
I now have business cards, flyers, posters and packaging labels all with the new logo. All of my social media platforms use the same logo. It seems to be working. Comments from buyers and collectors has been very positive and most remarkably I was told that it gave the impression I was established. I've only been a part-time artist for little over a year!
